What NavGuard is
NavGuard is the brainchild of Gavin Nicholas MacLennan.
Aircraft already compute GNSS integrity through RAIM and broadcast the result as Navigation Integrity Category (NIC) in ADS-B messages. NavGuard aggregates those live reports, associates them with position and time, and generates a real-time spatial coverage window of GNSS integrity across airspace.
The result is observation-based situational awareness that pure constellation-prediction tools cannot provide, including local degradations caused by interference, jamming, spoofing, or other anomalies.
How it works
- Receive ADS-B messages containing GNSS integrity indicators (NIC, and optionally NACp, SIL, SDA).
- Associate each report with aircraft position and time.
- Aggregate reports into a live spatial coverage window.
- Detect and highlight local integrity degradations.
- Deliver the map via operator display, API, or alerts.
